I didn’t know about this third option until two weeks ago when 2 of my articles finally got curated. They were nearly a month old!

The pattern I have noticed is that, if your article is not rejected within 4-5 hours after publishing, then it passed through the algorithm. Then it’s 2 weeks of “hang tight” and after that it goes to the third option, as you explained.
